SHOW RECAP: Hank Von Hell LIVE on 8-13-19 at El Club in Detroit with interview & live concert footage

It has been nearly a decade since Hank Von Hell left the band Turbonegro and rock and roll as a whole after a short stint in Doctor Midnight & The Mercy Cult. He finally returned to the genre last year with the release of the album entitled Egomania.

After a slight delay in a previous booked North American Tour, Hank Von Hell finally made his
return to the Motor City for a live show at El Club on August 13, 2019.

I caught up with Hank before his concert and he requested to conduct our interview inside Clark Park. Hank felt a need to loiter as we discussed Detroit music, his new album, touring, Turbonegro, pizza, and more.

Check out our discussion below....

Fans of Turbonegro when Hank was the vocalist will not be disappointed with Hank's latest project. Hank sought out to make one hell of a epic rock and roll record with Egomania.

With a fresh and lively new band backing him, Hank took to the stage to play new material off his latest effort, a few Turbonegro classics, and even a cover of Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt".

Check out some live footage from the show below...

                                "Blood"

                Selfdestructo Bust" (Turbonegro)

                           "Bum To Bum"

                "Hurt" (Nine Inch Nails Cover)

                "I Got Erection" (Turbonegro)

SHOW REVIEW: L7 LIVE at St. Andrews Hall In Detroit on 7-24-18

L7 made their triumphant return to Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit this past Tuesday evening. The band is no stranger to the venue having played multiple live gigs there in the 90's when using the term "Grunge" to describe bands was as common as "Rock N' Roll" and "Heavy Metal".
L7 has not missed a beat in the 20+ years the band has last appeared at St. Andrews Hall. The songs still resonate with as much passion and the 900+ people who filled the venue proved there is still interest. The band consisting of original members Donita Sparks(vocals/guitar), Suzi Gardner (vocals/guitar) and Jennifer Finch (vocals/bass) were joined by temporary replacement drummer Motley Mel due to Dee Plakas recovering from a broken arm.
L7 isn't resting on their laurels and have announced they are working on their first full-length album since 1999 and have released the new tracks, "I Came Back To Bitch" and "Dispatch from Mar-a-Lago on a 7" vinyl record this year. The band played both new songs live as well as plenty of their classics including "Fast and Frightening", "Pretend We're Dead", "Everglade", and "Shitlist".
L7 has been touring consistently since the band reunited four years ago and I would highly recommend catching a live show of theirs next time they are in town. For now, check out some of the photo highlights from Tuesday's St. Andrews Hall performance below.
